and what's new
Finally, yesterday, I went and submitted my visa application - so will know whether I am to leave for colder shores by Tuesday or so. At the moment ticket has been blocked for the 16th, but unfortunately on SriLankan - no movies to watch for me.
And British Airways doesn't fly from Hyd - how terrible is that.
Anyway, have spent the past two days avoiding doing my two GH stories - now must kill myself as must give them in by tomorrow. Gah! I am really looking forward to a couple of days when I don't do anything.
Like in B'lore, where, by the end of my trip, I even had the mental space to finish off three books - Invisible Cities, Norwegian Wood and In Praise of Shadows. Now I read one article in a magazine and fall asleep.
Back to how I avoided work - well, took cousin to Secret Lake and we hired a pedal boat and took a 20 minute turn around the lake, after which we stopped for a croissant and iced tea, and finally walked home. Two km people!
Also watched two Keanu Reeves movies in bits - an hour of Constantine, and 45 minutes of Kenneth Branagh's Much Ado About Nothing. Kenneth Branagh is a yummy man.
Did I tell you that I watched a performance of Twelfth Night at Udaipur's City Palace. Well, ok, that's a bit misleading - it was in the premises but on what seemed like a playground - no palace lurking in the background. But the night was dark - and cold - and the actors, with one exception, were very good. Good fun.
Now back to diets.
