Vanilla coffee

Bought a tiny little jar yesterday at this really pretty shop called Whittard's. Tiny is good because most coffee and designer teas are bought with enthusiasm and then stuck in the shelves overlooked in favour of other, much more normal, everyday choices. Brooke Bond and Nescafe, for instance.
But we were n't going to do that. So today we decided to take a coffee break, not a tea one. Scooped up the teaspoonful of the fragrant brown stuff into two new, oh-so-pretty Easter Bunny mugs, poured in the water just 'off the boil' (as the instructions will have you do, brought out the full cream Welsh milk...
...and the babies started crying! It never fails. They have the most amazing noses. Give them a whiff of tea or coffee - even if you're in the kitchen and the door's shut - and they just know it's time for their feed, or to be rocked to sleep, or have a nappy change. Morning, noon or night! They can identify tea bag tea, adrak ki chai and obviously coffee.
So fed them milk as the coffee aromas wafted past us tauntingly, and the water just off the boil grew cool. Burped them. Microwaved the coffee.
